Description

This ride will take you through Sambhar Salt Lake, Asia's largest salt lake where you would see hundreds of flamingoes frolicking in their natural habitat. For bird-lovers, this is the best place to explore. Myriad tall and dainty birds with their ballerina tutus come here to enjoy the delicious spirulina algae that thrive when the water reaches a medium degree of salinity. Besides that you would see the forts and palaces in Jaipur, the city also known as Pink City. The rose-pink capital of Rajasthan surrounded on all sides by rugged hills crowned with forts will be a delectable sight.

Itinerary

Day 1 (October 11 2011): Arrive in Delhi (-/-/-)
Arrive at Indra Gandhi International Airport, New Delhi. This will be followed by the hotel transfer and a day of leisure.

Day 2 (October 12 2011): 
Pachar Village (B/L/D)
Today you will proceed to Pachar village. Upon arrival, transfer to Hotel for overnight stay.
In the afternoon, you will visit and walk through the village of Pachar savoring its frescoes and painted havelis. Overnight at Hotel in Pachar.

Day 3 (October 13 2011): Ramgarh
(B/L/D)
Day 3 starts with the ride on the soft and sandy terrain to Ramgarh. We’ll stop for lunch and then continue the ride to Ramgarh through farmlands, where you might also come across the Blue Bull, the largest antelope in Asia. Finally we’ll arrive in a campsite in Ramgarh for overnight stay in tented accommodation.

Day 4 (October 14 2011): 
Bhagwanpura (B/L/D)
Ride to Bhagwanpura followed by lunch. Then we’ll arrive at the campsite at Bhagwanpura. Bhagwanpura is on the edge of Asia’s largest salt lake and is the key wintering area for thousands of flamingoes and other birds that migrate from northern Asia. In the afternoon, we will visit salt fields by jeep and then head back to the campsite for overnight stay in tented accommodation.

Day 5 (October 15 2011): 
Salt Lake, Sambhar (B/L/-)
Day 5 starts with an early morning ride to Salt Lake followed by breakfast on the lake while watching flamingoes. Then we will continue to ride to Sambhar and arrive in time for lunch. The ride finishes at Sambhar followed by a transfer to Jaipur by coach and finally a check in at Heritage Hotel for overnight stay.

Day 6 (October 16 2011): Back to Delhi (B/-/-)
After breakfast, free time for shopping. Lunch and more free time thereafter followed by a late afternoon/evening drive to Delhi and transfer to International Airport.
